The ongoing situation with Covid 19 may cause shipments to Hong Kong to be delayed. This is due to flight disruptions and added customs / quarantine checks.

IMPORTANT

You must provide a copy of your passport and, if you are not a citizen of Hong Kong, a copy of your Hong Kong ID card, work permit or visa. Copies of these documents are required when clearing your items through customs so you must upload copies to your customer portal before your shipment is collected.

If you are only sending electrical items and / or clothing, you will need to obtain an import licence before customs clearance.

CUSTOMS INFORMATION

All shipments of personal effects (items you’ve owned for more than 6 months) must be accompanied by a detailed inventory list. This must be a detailed, itemised list. Chinese customs authorities will not accept general terms on inventory such as ‘household effects’ or ‘kitchen items’. All items need to be itemised in a comprehensive list so it is clear exactly what is being shipped.

PROHIBITED ITEMS – HONG KONG

At Baggage Hub, we supply a general list of Prohibited and Restricted items as standard, but there are specific rules and restrictions when sending items to China, which it’s important to be aware of.

Military equipment is strictly prohibited.We advise against sending alcohol into Hong Kong. It will accrue duties and will cause delays. If you do not provide enough accompanying information, fees of HK$160 per litre might be added to the shipment.

Non-perishable food is permitted but only in small quantities.
