SWITZERLAND

The ongoing situation with Covid 19 may cause shipments to Switzerland to be delayed. This is due to flight disruptions and added customs / quarantine checks.

IMPORTANT

Depending on the value and contents of your shipment, the courier may require you to fill out a Swiss Customs Declaration Form, which must be an original signed page attached to the shipment.

www.ezv.admin.ch/ezv/en/home/information-individuals/personal-property--students--holiday-homes--getting-married-and-/importation-into-switzerland/moving--household-effects-.html

You may have to provide documentation including information on their move to Switzerland – job contract, flat rental or purchase information, residence permit (not usually required from EU citizens)

CUSTOMS INFORMATION

Shipments entering Switzerland may be selected for further inspection by the customs authority. If that happens, the shipment will be delayed for three to fourdays while the inspection process is completed.

Customs require door-to-door shipments of personal effects to be delivered to a residential address.

All shipments of personal effects (items you’ve owned for more than 6 months) must be accompanied by a detailed inventory list. This must be a detailed, itemised list. Swiss customs authorities will not accept general terms on inventory such as ‘household effects’ or ‘kitchen items’. All items need to be itemised in a comprehensive list so it is clear exactly what is being shipped.

PROHIBITED ITEMS - SWITZERLAND

At Baggage Hub, we supply a general list of Prohibited and Restricted items as standard, but there are specific rules and restrictions when sending items to Switzerland, which it’s important to be aware of.

Antiques, furs, jewellery, precious metals and precious stones are prohibited.

Liquids / pastes / gels (toiletries etc) and non-perishable foods are permitted to be sent via road courier, but prohibited via airfreight / air courier. We would, however, strongly advise against sending any foods or liquids that are contained in glass jars or bottles as these may break in transit.

Please make sure you review the prohibited items document here [ Restricted Items ]. You willbe required to digitally sign this list within the customer portal to confirm you understand what not to pack.
